Bilingual Health Educator
May Alqas Alias is a committed community advocate and health education professional with extensive experience working with refugee and migrant communities in Melbourne. As a Bilingual Health Educator with Health In My Language Project at the Multicultural Centre for Women’s Health, she delivers culturally relevant health education, bridging language and cultural barriers for women from diverse backgrounds. Proficient in Chaldean, Assyrian, Arabic, Kurdish, and English, she enriches her role with deep language skills. May also serves as the Program Lead for Family Violence Prevention at Arabic Welfare. Previously, she held research officer positions at RMIT University and the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, contributing to projects on health equity and maternal care, leading to several co-authored publications. Her work exemplifies her dedication to health equity, community empowerment, and culturally responsive service delivery.
