
Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
Cho Cho Mya is a dedicated public health professional with a strong background in health systems strengthening, gender equity, and community wellbeing. She holds an M.B.,B.S. degree from the University of Medicine, Mandalay, Myanmar and a master’s degree in human nutrition with a public health specialization from the University of Glasgow, UK. Originally trained as a medical doctor in Myanmar, Cho brings a unique blend of clinical experience and public health expertise to her work.
Since migrating to Australia in 2023, she has continued to advance health equity, contributing to local government health and wellbeing planning and now serving as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at the MCWH. Her work focuses on intersectional health promotion, data-informed evaluation, and capacity building in programs that support the sexual and reproductive health and rights of women and gender diverse communities. Cho is deeply committed to building inclusive, culturally responsive systems that center the lived experiences of migrant and refugee communities. She believes that everyone deserves equitable access to health, dignity, and opportunity—regardless of their background, language, or circumstance. Cho speaks Burmese and English.
