What needs to change in Australia’s handling of violence against women?

After months of allegations of assault, rape and demeaning and sexualised attacks on women, there are hopes a new cabinet taskforce will tackle the root causes of these problems, including reforming courts and the justice system.

While some experts welcome the move, they say there are significant gaps in the current systems in place to help women and children escaping violence.
