Thrive Festival

Celebrating multicultural women in Melbourne’s CBD

Thrive Festival launched for the first time in 2025, a free, one-day celebration of multicultural women held at Federation Square in Melbourne's CBD. Our Watch Partnership

Develop a joint national guide for the prevention of violence against migrant and refugee women

MCWH’s partnership with Our Watch is now in its second year working on a joint national guide for the prevention of violence against migrant and refugee women and gender-diverse people. It is based on the combined expertise of Our Watch and MCWH's decades of research and practice expertise in violence prevention and early intervention by and for migrant and refugee communities.

The guide will be published in early 2027 and will include real project case studies, including projects that worked with LGBTQIA+ migrants and refugees, and guidance for organisations wanting to take an intersectional approach to working with migrant and refugee communities to prevent violence.

"Over the last year, our engagement with MCWH has helped build our capacity in applying an intersectional and systems-based approach to our work, encouraging more holistic consideration of issues and responses."
