WRAP #86: Migrant essential workers, the cost of reproductive healthcare and 60 seconds with Eman Al-Dasuqi

Welcome to our fourth edition of the year!

Into our seventh week of isolation, we’ve been busy working together-apart. This month, we began running our multilingual radio programs about COVID-19 and migrant women’s health, and delivered our first PACE women’s leadership workshop online.

While we’re lucky to be working from home, we know many migrant women essential workers are working on the frontlines, often in precarious and insecure conditions. It’s only fitting that today on World Day for Safety and Health at Work we’ll be talking about the need for greater solidarity and support for better pay and conditions for migrant workers. We love this video that recognises the sacrifice they make.

We’ll also be talking about the reproductive health costs of COVID-19 for migrant women who are locked out of affordable health care, and will be featuring Eman Al-Dasuqi, a PACE Women’s Leadership program graduate in our 60 Seconds to brighten up your day.

Finally, we’re thinking of our communities who are practising Ramadan during these difficult, stressful and isolating circumstances. It’s been a challenging couple of months but we hope you all are staying safe and healthy.

Until next time,
The WRAP Team
