MCWH is looking for a confident communicator and advocate for change to lead the National Education Toolkit for FGM/C Awareness (NETFA) Project.
Ideally, you are someone who has an understanding of this global issue, and is part of a community or is from a country where FGM/C is known to have been, or continue to be, practiced in some form.

The Project Officer will need to ensure the successful and timely completion of the National Education Toolkit for FGM/C Awareness (NETFA) Project.
This project has been implemented by the MCWH, together with its partners across Australia, for seven years. The role will be responsible for building on previous work (see www.netfa.com.au) and for expanding in the following ways:
- delivery of a community-led, multilingual advocacy campaign that targets communities affected by FGM/C
- delivery of a community leadership program, which will support up to eight women from FGM/C-affected communities to participate in NETFA campaign activities
- development and promotion of a podcast and a video (translated in up to eight languages)
You will need to be a great communicator who is passionate about the issue and able to relate to a broad range of stakeholders and audiences with diverse needs and interests.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications;
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a project management role and/or advocacy role;
- Excellent project/program planning and implementation skills;
- Excellent analytical and report-writing skills;
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills;
- Experience working appropriately with communities affected by FGM/C;
- Experience working with migrant and refugee communities on health promotion;
- A high-level of computer and digital literacy, including demonstrated experience using WordPress and social media platforms
- Commitment to, and understanding of, migrant and refugee women’s issues from an intersectional feminist perspective.
- Fluency in a language relevant to, and identification with, communities affected by FGM/C
- Victorian drivers licence
- Some evening or weekend work may be required from time to time
- Rural and/or interstate travel may be required from time to time
Salary & conditions
- Part-time: 30.4 hours per week
- SCHCADS Award Level 6, pay point depending on experience and qualifications;

Period of appointment
3 years, pending successful completion of a 3-month probationary period.
