Extending Our Diabetes Healthy Living Project 2011
The Extending our Healthy Living (Sharing Models for Immigrant and Refugee Women's Health and Wellbeing) Project is the latest addition
to the Centre's SEED Program. The Project, funded by the Ian Potter Foundation, delivered diabetes prevention education sessions to 575
women from 16 different cultural backgrounds in 8 languages (including English) with women across Victoria.
A Diabetes Prevention Education Manual, based on the woman-to-woman approach, has been produced with input from the MCWH bilingual educators.
The manual can be used by other health and community workers to facilitate diabetes education sessions with immigrant and refugee women.
A copy of the manual can be downloaded here. For hard copies, please contact our office.
