My role at MCWH includes processing both accounts and payroll, maintaining cash flow, and preparing monthly financial reports. I also contribute to the running of MCWH projects by managing related funds; this gives me particular satisfaction as I know the indelible and meaningful impact of our project work on the community.

I was born in Sri Lanka and have worked in many different countries, including Sri Lanka and England, and possess a broad knowledge of various financial systems. I possess a Diploma in Accounting (Polytechnic College of Sri Lanka), a Certificate in Bookkeeping from the International Association of Bookkeepers of London and a Diploma in Computer Based Accounting (Greensborough TAFE).

Another key strength of mine is journalism. I have been involved in this field since I was fourteen years old and my enthusiasm hasn’t waned. I have also been a voluntary broadcaster for the Tamil community in Australia since 1992. In the same year I published a collection of short stories Kannigathanangal (Tamil Short Stories). Another of my short stories Thothu viyaathigal (Infectious Disease) was translated by Indian professor Thamilichi Paandian into English and through this work she was awarded a scholarship to Monash University.
