Dr Salma Al-Khudairi

My responsibility at MCWH is the day-to-day operations of the Professional Training Program. This includes the development and implementation of internal training for the bilingual Health Educators and external training programs for those interested in immigrant and refugee women's health and wellbeing including health professionals, community and welfare workers. I also organise and facilitate the MCWH Seminar Program and the Knowing Her Better Training Modules.

I was born in Baghdad Iraq and possess a BA in Sociology and MA in Urban and Regional Planning from Baghdad University. I also possess a PhD in Social Planning and Development from Liverpool University, England. In 2007 I received a Higher Diploma in Counselling and Human Services from La Trobe University Melbourne. I taught in the tertiary sector for fifteen years at universities both in the Middle East and also Western Australia.

I have seventeen years experience working with immigrants and refugees including as a community development consultant, counsellor, researcher and cross-cultural trainer.
