Office Manager

A single point of departure for many migrants and refugees leads to many points of arrival in their lives. One of my points of arrival has been the role of MCWH Office Manager.

I am the first port of call to anyone contacting MCWH. My work also includes developing and managing office procedures, supporting staff with administrative, financial and event-related tasks, management of board meetings and related requirements, and attending to OHS and risk management issues in the workplace. My previous work has included positions in finance and office management. This along with early studies in law and legal issues has brought me to my current role at MCWH. Since arriving in Melbourne in 1996 I have continued my education in office management and administration.

Having been surrounded by multiculturalism all my life—growing up in Bosnia, migrating to Croatia, Germany and Sweden, and then coming to Australia, I have developed considerable understanding of different cultures and people, broadening my view of both. This life experience assists me connect with the issues and needs of immigrant and refugee women.

My point of arrival at MCWH has proved fulfilling in many ways. I have been privileged to witness the growth of the women we collaborate with and in turn this continues to enrich our organisation.  Arrivals and departures continue…
