Rebecca He Li

Bilingual Health Educator
Language(s): Cantonese

MCWH provides immigrant and refugee women health education in their preferred languages in a culturally sensitive manner. The aim of these sessions includes informing women about the services available to them in Australia and how to access these services. MCWH education sessions are offered to immigrant and refugee women in locations most appropriate to them such as their workplaces and community spaces.

My role focuses on conducting sessions in Cantonese for women from the Chinese community. I have been working as a MCWH Bilingual Health Educator for a year and it is a challenging, fulfilling and rewarding experience. My wish is to reach more Chinese women with our health education programs.

My professional background is in nursing. I possess a Bachelor of Nursing (RMIT) and Graduate Certificate of Diabetes Education (Deakin University). MCWH also provides its Educators with professional development through up-to-date in service training.

It is an honour to work for MCWH. I am enthusiastically grasping every opportunity it affords me to educate both the Chinese and wider community. My focus in this is assisting women to be more informed about their health and to take more care of their wellbeing in a timely manner, to assist them regarding access to the health system, and as a result live a better, healthier life in Australia.
